We recently celebrated Irene’s January 29 birthday a few days late, but with great zeal. On Thursday, February 1, Tricia Brown spoke at the Downtown Rotary Club in Fairbanks at their noon luncheon, where Irene’s story was well-received among a hardy audience that came despite the deep cold. Thanks, folks!
The next evening was the Irene Sherman Birthday Bash at the Fairbanks Community Museum, and with it, even deeper cold! We got messages from folks who’d planned to come, but struggles with cars, furnaces, and more, prevented it. Still, it was an excellent turnout for Tricia’s presentation drawn from her book, The Queen of Fairbanks, that’s due out in May. The crowd enjoyed plenty of food, plus a beautiful cake donated by River City Bakery. Thank you!
Donations have been steady, and we’re so grateful. Meanwhile, the Irene Sherman Project committee is making application to possible corporate donors.
Our warm thanks to you all!
