Today our Irene Sherman Project planning committee co-chair Bob Eley shared the latest on our plans and progress as he spoke to the Fairbanks Chamber of Commerce. We’re so grateful for their help in joining our effort and getting the word out. And there’s more opportunity ahead:
Thursday, Feb. 1 – Tricia Brown will make a presentation about the mysteries and realities in the life of Irene Sherman. She’ll be the guest speaker at the Fairbanks Rotary Club, which gathers at noon at the Fairbanks Westmark Hotel, 813 Noble Street.
Friday, Feb. 2, from 6 to 9 p.m. Here is a celebration you won’t want to miss! Irene’s Birthday Party! Remember how much Irene loved those parties that her friends threw every year? So many sheet cakes through the years! Irene’s birthday falls on Jan. 29, but we’re close to it with our First Friday bash at the Fairbanks Community Museum, inside the old Empress Theatre at 535 2nd Ave. Head upstairs. We’ll have edibles, drinks, and a birthday cake for the Queen. At 7 p.m., Tricia Brown will share a PowerPoint and talk about Irene Sherman and her fascinating life.
